Fingernail bitingly worrying

My husband got the children good this morning.  He woke them up and told them it was a snow day and there was no school!  Of course, it was only after they were all lovely and excited, eager to go out and play, that they noticed the lack of puffy stuff!

Yesterday I asked a colleague to read over my book and to have a look at the teen novel I’ve started.  Luckily the teen novel was only a few pages long and she gave me thumbs up almost immediately (I promise I didn’t tie her to a chair and threaten her with a ream of A4 paper).

As for the women’s lit novel, Golden Obsession, which I ought to be proofing rather than blogging, I shall have to wait until after the Easter Hols as School breaks up for two weeks today.  Also, at 105,000 words it will take her a couple of days to read (if she finds it interesting, otherwise a couple of weeks).

So, I shall spend the next fortnight biting my fingernails, wondering if she could even be bothered to finish it!!!!

Off to polish my story.  Hope you all have great April Fool’s day!

About Bea Turvey apprentice author and witch

I am a wild-haired author who cannot stop writing. The writing process is not a task for me. It is an extension of myself. When I write, I lose myself as easily as if I slipped into the story for a swim. Writing became a serious part of my life in Decmber of 2009. Unless you're reading this in 2017 it wasn't that long ago, and the bug hit me hard and fast. My first novel, Banished, was published in March 2010 and is available at http://www.amazon.co.uk/Banished-ebook/dp/B008PGM4TQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1361913026&sr=8-1. If you read it, or anything else I've written, I hope you'll post a review and let me know why you liked it - or even why not!
